Mazzanti - Project EV-R 5 of 10

"Fresh from an appearance with its updated Evantra supercar at the 2016 Top Marques Monaco, Mazzanti has released a video teasing its next major announcement.According to Mazzanti, the EV-R will decelerate from 186 mph to rest in 7.0 seconds or less. That’s comparable to the stopping power of the Koenigsegg One:1 hypercar that’s been clocked decelerating from 186 mph to rest in 6.032 seconds.

To get the EV-R up to 186 mph and beyond will be a twin-turbocharged 7.2-liter V-8. The engine will also enable 0-60 mph acceleration in 2.7 seconds or less.

Final numbers are yet to be released but we’re expecting the car to be the most powerful street-legal car out of Italy, which means eclipsing the 950 horsepower of Ferrari’s [NYSE:RACE] LaFerrari. That shouldn’t be too tough for Mazzanti considering its naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V-8 in the Evantra is already spitting out 751 hp.

That next announcement will be the reveal of a new, much more potent version of the Evantra code-named the EV-R. The car is due for its world debut on June 8 at the 2016 Turin Auto Show (officially the Parco Valentino).

In the latest teaser, we learn the car will have some incredible stopping power thanks to carbon-ceramic brakes from Brembo. You can catch a glimpse of a massive 6-piston caliper and cross-drilled disc in the short clip. The clip also features more commentary from Mazzanti founder Luca Mazzanti."
