12 best Alfa Romeo road cars ever

There are few brands as evocative as Alfa Romeo. Some go as far as to say that you cannot be a real petrolhead unless you’ve owned one of Milan's finest from Alfa Romeo.

But, given the fine history of both the original ALFA and the famous Alfa Romeo, it’s pretty hard to pick out a list of the best ever. Sure there have been down times for Alfa Romeo, but during the good times it has consistently pumped out brilliant car after brilliant car.

But, we’ve had a go. No doubt this list will annoy pretty much everyone, some will think that Alfa Romeo haven’t made a good car since the War, some that only the 1960s could be even considered. But at some point we had to stop, so we picked a dozen Alfa Romeos we love and left it there.
