2019 Abarth 595 Competizione with Gavin Hill from RMA Motors

Abarth had been making Fiat performance exhausts and tuning kits for a decade before it introduced the original 595 at the Turin motor show back in 1963. This 2019 special anniversary model has proved an immediate hit like the original, its size and surprising turn of speed guaranteeing its legendary status.

Added options to this 595 include Red/black/white sport kit, Specific front grille , Abarth Painted bumper stripes, Abarth Sports kit, Car play/android auto - smartphone mirroring, Racing red stitched leather seats, Sports exhausts, and Abarth’s power upgrade kit from 165 hp to 180 brake horsepower.

Powering the 595 is a 1.4-litre T-Jet petrol engine with an IHI RHF3-P turbocharger, while in this Competizione model punches out 180bhp. The Transmission is a five-speed Auto with paddle shifters. Given the car’s trim, kerb weight is around 1100kg, it packs a power-to-weight ratio better that most hot hatches on the market.

The suspension spec is similarly promising, there are 17-inch alloy wheels, lowered sports springs, beefed-up anti-roll bars and Koni FSD selective dampers but the Competizione adds cross-drilled disc brakes with high-performance Brembo calipers, as well as a quad-exit sports exhaust.
On this model the interior is more practical, better appointed for a full-sized hot supermini. As such the Competizione gets xenon headlights, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable door mirrors, rear parking sensors, and Fiat's infotainment system complete with a 5.0in touchscreen display, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.
