Mercedes-Benz A-Class 2019 review – the best luxury hatch?

The A-Class is the entry-level car from German luxury brand Mercedes-Benz.

The new 2020 Mercedes-Benz A250 sedans are now in Australia, rounding out the local 2020 A-Class sedan line-up.
There are two A250 sedan variants available: the front-wheel-drive A250 from $53,000 and the all-wheel-drive A250 4Matic from $59,200. (Both prices exclude on-road costs.)

The 2020 A250 sedan models slot in just above the entry A180 ($46,200) and A200 ($50,900) models, and well below the hero Mercedes-AMG A35 sedan ($72,500).

Power in these two mid-range hotties is provided by the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine that drives the A250 hatch, offering 165kW and 350Nm.

Power is sent to the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Fuel consumption and 0-100km/h acceleration figures are listed at 6.4L/100km and 6.3 seconds for the A2
50, and 6.6L/100km and 6.3 seconds (yes, identical) for the A250 4Matic.

Standard kit in the A250 sedan includes two 10.25-inch screens for the centre and instrument displays, digital radio and Mercedes's new MBUX infotainment with 225W nine-speaker sound. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard (wired), along with wireless charging.
