Touring Superleggera, the Italian coachbuilder, is returning to the Geneva Motor Show with another stunning vehicle. After introducing the Sciàdipersia Coupe at the last year's event in Switzerland, the company is now revealing its open-top version, the Sciàdipersia Cabriolet. And it's drop-dead gorgeous.
The convertible is based on the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible as the Milan-based automaker says it's the "ideal starting point" with its specifications being "perfectly suited to the project." The exterior lines of the Sciadipersia Cabriolet are almost identical with the shapes of the coupe variant with the only exception being, obviously, the lack of a hard top.
Touring Superleggera says that the overall look of the car is inspired by the Golden Age of Motoring with "classic and timeless design that continues to set standards."
Under the long hood is a naturally-aspirated V8 engine with 460 horsepower (338 kilowatts) at 7,000 rpm. The Euro 6-compliable unit sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox and provides an estimated 0-62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) acceleration in about five seconds. Top speed is 179 mph (288 kph).
