The Alfa Romeo 4C, alongside the gorgeous 8C, spearheaded Alfa Romeo’s renaissance in the 21st century. It was the first production rear-wheel drive Alfa Romeo since the 75 went out of production in 1993. Built on a carbon-fibre tub and powered by a 1,750-cc inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine, it was both exciting to drive and beautiful to behold.

In 2018, former FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne declared that the 4C would be discontinued with no successor announced. Seeing an opportunity to create something truly special, Up Design partnered with Adler Group to create what they thought a potential successor would look like. The Mole Costruzione Artigianale 001, with coachwork designed by Umberto Palermo, was based on an Alfa Romeo 4C. It is a truly unique one-off built in the finest Turinese tradition, boasting the distinctive Alfa Romeo design solutions and an elegant and refined interior clad in fine leather.

Introduced to the public at the Salone Parco del Valentino in 2018 and at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2019, the Mole Costruzione Artigianale 001 quickly gained worldwide acclaim for its stunning looks. With the Alfa Romeo 4C belonging to the past, the Mole Costruzione Artigianale 001 would sit proudly amongst any collection of Alfa Romeos or coachbuilt Italian automobiles.
