The Audi A3 e-tron is a plug-in hybrid, with a battery pack and electric motor along with a conventional 1.4-litre petrol engine.

This means the e-tron can drive for around 31 miles on a full charge, before its petrol motor chimes in. You can also use both motors in Hybrid mode for extra performance, getting you from 0-62mph in as little as 7.6 seconds.

We put the Audi A3 e-tron through its paces for a week.
