The flagship model of the English firm, as far as big cars are concerned, has just received a significant improvement. In effect, we are talking about the version of access to the range, if a similar brand can be used in a brand like this.

Powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12, the 3rd generation Bentley Continental GT possesses absolutely crushing outputs of 626bhp and 664 lb-ft, channeled to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. 0-60mph performance is brisk at 3.6 seconds, and top speed is an impressive 207mph.

On the other hand, the Bentley Continental GT V8 2019 comes with a new eight-cylinder engine in V, with 4.0 liters of displacement, 550 HP of power and 770 Nm of maximum torque.

Do you think the absence of four cylinders is a drama? Well it is not so much, as they show some features quite close to those of the W12 versions. In fact, based on the closed body, the GT V8 requires 4.0 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100, compared to 3.7 using the equivalent W12. Everything, accompanied by a maximum speed of 318 km / h.

Performance data is not the only concern of the Crewe manufacturer. Also, a lower fuel consumption has been sought and, therefore, greater efficiency. For this, for example, we opt for a disconnection system that shuts off four of the eight cylinders, in certain cases, and that acts in just 20 thousandths of a second. Regarding the traction, which is total, it has a distribution function that prioritizes the sending of torque to the rear axle. In this way, in addition to ensuring a more fun dynamic, it also reduces consumption.

The new model offers all kinds of extras to suit the tastes of its driver, starting with the alloy wheels: standard, they are 20 inches and 10 spokes, but it is possible to choose another nine models, up to 22 inches. There are also seven standard paintings and a wide catalog of chromatic creations on demand, as well as seven different tonalities to 'paint' the hood of the Convertible.

That said, one of the few details that distinguish the V8 from the W12 is the exhaust system, since four-way outlets are equipped, instead of the two large oval tails of the 'big brother'. Well, that and the presentation of the discreet flagship V8 on the front wings.
