To be competitive in a non-competitive environment takes stupidity and money, but it also makes for a hell of an adventure. Attached is a video showing some tricks to being competitive in the world of on road rallying. The thought that to arrive before others requires having the fastest car is actually as wrong as you could possibly be. Far too many variables involved to determine who places first on any given day, but usually involves most of what is in the video and a healthy dose of luck. Highest average speed on the most efficient route between two points without having to stop is the name of the game in getting there first.

And for all you closest James Bonds out there, the spike strips, oil slicks, smoke screens, fender mounted machine guns are all intentionally not in here. The rallies are #1 about fun over competition, no one is out to try to hurt anyone.
