As an added bonus to the NHRDA World Finals, the burnout competition is hosted toward the end of eliminations to provide a break for final competitors, and as an added bonus to the show. The opportunity to participate is open to any in attendance and provides the opportunity to walk away with $250 cash. Winners are determined by decibel level of the crowd's cheering immediately following each burnout.
While everyone thought the Dumpster had won the contest, the go-kart snuck in at the end and swept the competition and walked away with $250.
