People have dreamed about a world where vehicles can fly for more than a century. And we've always seen them as carmaker conceptions and working prototypes on the big screen.

In fact, Ford even considered buying the Taylor Aerocar to distribute it on the market in the 1940s. But the reality is that these cars are not yet prepared for widespread manufacture. However, the current state of technology is sufficient to make this a possibility.

Near the end of the 1985 science fiction classic "Back to the Future," the archetypical mad inventor Doc Brown makes a startling end-speech.

In the movie, as the time-traveling DeLorean began ascending into the air, he said, "Where we're going, we don't need roads."

While we haven't seen a flood of flying automobiles just yet, a lot of them is in the works, especially in China.

And only last year, XPeng, a Chinese maker of electric vehicles, unveiled a design for a flying automobile! Now, the business hopes to have it available for purchase by 2024, and it will have the ability to drive on roads.

At its 1024 Tech Day last year, XPeng unveiled the concept designs for their unidentified electric flying vehicle. Plus, they also displayed their most recent innovations.

And just a few days ago, they displayed their flying automobile in front of about 150 people in Dubai! And it even has the same gull-wing door as the DeLorean does!

Now, the first public test flight of the electric flying automobile built by the Chinese company XPeng AeroHT took place on October 11 at Skydive Dubai. And they did it while taking in breathtaking views of the city below and enjoying smooth flying conditions.

The vehicle's eVTOL or electric vertical takeoff and landing capabilities were showcased during the 90- second flight.

Xpeng AeroHT has shown all the required information that the idea is near to becoming a reality. And it seems like a commercially ready car isn't years away from entering the market.

Now, XPENG's subsidiary, XPENG AEROHT, operates more flying cars in Asia than any other firm.

The company is committed to developing the most secure, intelligent electric flying car for consumers. And right now, they're fusing the technologies of smart automobiles with contemporary aviation.

In addition, the company hopes to sell items and offer services related to 3D transportation in the near future.

The firm began operations in 2013 and has completed 15,000 trips, with all crew members returning home safely.

It is also the recipient of several prizes for its industrial design, including the Red Dot Award, the IF Award, and the IDEA Design Award.

Moreover, on October 19 last year, XPENG AEROHT secured Series A capital fundraising of more than US$500 million.

And a consortium of 6 well-known investors has joined the investment round led by IDG Capital, 5Y Capital, and XPeng Inc.

DURING THE TEST

Now, the XPENG X2 finished the risk analysis for its unique activities without incident. And the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, or DCAA, worked with them, allowing the first public flight to take place in country.

Moreover, the technical data was gathered from the X2 R&D team by a trained XPENG AEROHT group of experts. Additionally, the X2 demonstration flight's operating idea and manual were crafted using the worldwide standard model, and the flight's danger was evaluated.

The risk management strategy was designed with input from the Sanad Academy and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. And this strategy aimed to provide a risk-free first voyage for the X2.

Needless to say, the DCAA evaluators were impressed with the XPENG X2's steadiness and the standardized procedures used during the flying test.

And this is quite a surprise since the XPENG X2's completion of the examination is the first time China's manned autonomous flying vehicle has passed its operational risk assessment overseas.

As a result, XPENG AEROHT is the first business of its kind in Dubai to pass the evaluation at this weight. FEATURES AND DESIGN
