Citroen - iconic French manufacturer is coming to India and the first product from the company is C5 Aircross. The premium SUV was first unveiled in 2017 for the Chinese market and the global model came soon after at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The model, which will be available in India will be the same one from Europe and the SUV is assembled at its plant in Tamil Nadu.

The exterior design of the C5 Aircross is completely different from the competition as the front gets split headlamps set up with LED DRLs on top and LED headlamps at the bottom. One thing which makes the C5 Aircross unique is its bumper design with air bumps. The fog lamps are placed on the lower part of the bumper. The air bumps design continues to the side also and the alloy wheels are 18-inch units while the rear gets LED units with air bumps design. Citreon C5 Aircross measures 4,500 mm in length, 2,099 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,730mm.

The interior is modern and classy like the exterior as the dashboard design is futuristic as the SUV comes with an 8-inch infotainment system and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. One of the highlights of the C5 Aircross is progressive hydraulic suspension, which offers a magic carpet-like ride. The Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension aims at eliminating that jolt which is transferred into the body when a shock absorber rebounds. It has two hydraulic stops — one for compression and one for a rebound which work in tandem to further slow down the whole action of the shocks.

The C5 Aircross is powered by 2.0 L diesel engine with 174 PS and 400 Nm, the French manufacturer is currently only offering an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed mileage is 18.6 kmpl. Citreon will begin bookings for the C5 Aircross from March 1st and delivery will start from April. The price is expected to be around 25-30 lakh.
