La sesta generazione è la prima a non essere più marcata cvhevrolet, pur mantenendo le caratteristiche che hanno reso mitica questa vettura. La c6 ha un motore 6 litri di cilindrata, il v8 più grande e potente nella storia della corvette, in grado di esprimere 404 cavalli e di spingere la corvette a 300 chilometri all'ora. Alle versioni Coupè e convertibile si è aggiunta anche la Z06 derivata da una versione che nel 2005 ha partecipato a corse internazionali Gran Turismo.
