A car show has just wrapped up in Hyderabad. And while gas prices continue to climb, bigger cars seem to be in demand.
At the First Auto Show South at Hyderabad, big vehicles are in demand.
The four-day show, which wrapped up Monday, is hosted by the automobile industry.
Cars from Tata Motors, GM, Fiat India and more are on display.
The response from visitors has been overwhelming.
[Sanjay Gupta, General Manager, Sales, Toyota]: (Hindi, male)
"More people are coming in this expo than the earlier one. People are asking for larger vehicles only as they prefer large vehicles in these times."
[Matthew, Sales Manager, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd]: (English)
"Every product has its own market, for example Innova, the product that we have, it is called an MPV and it can seat around seven to eight people. For this kind of a product, this is called an MPV and Innova is the market leader in its segment. We sell approximately 40,000 units per annum so that means demand for such kind of products is also good."
The exhibition is set to travel across the country.
