Ferrari's history begins with its founder, Enzo Ferrari, born February 18, 1898 in Modena. He was one of the most famous Italian race car drivers and entrepreneurs. In n 1929, he founded the Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix motor racing team that in 1947 moved into production of street-legal vehicles as Ferrari S.p.A. He was often referred to as "il Commendatore".
