We drive the 2023 Toyota Hilux Rogue, which gets a wider track and a ground clearance increase to take on the new Ford Ranger.

Toyota will release a super-Hilux in the coming years, possibly with GR Hilux branding and tough off-roading suspension. But for now, there’s the 2023 Hilux Rogue: wider, meaner and better than ever, with new suspension components and better handling. But in the face of the new T6.2 Ranger Wildtrak, is the 2023 Rogue enough?

The Hilux Rogue competes with high-end Ford Ranger variants, plus the Volkswagen Amarok W580 series, Nissan Navara PRO-4X, Mazda BT-50 GT, Isuzu D-Max LS-T and others.

As always, we don’t accept advertising from car manufacturers, and we’re powered by Budget Direct - so this is an independent, honest review of the Toyota Hilux.
