Koenigsegg Direct Drive - Koenigsegg Regera - Explained

The Koenigsegg Regera debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, and uses a system called Koenigsegg Direct Drive. This car has no transmission, and instead has a direct link between the engine and the rear axle (through a hydraulic coupling). The car features a 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing ~1100 hp and 3 electric motors with a peak power of ~700 hp. The peak for the combined system is about 1500 hp.
