Der CX-3 ist Mazdas Antwort auf den Kompakt-SUV-Boom. Bei den Motoren ist „Rightsizing“ statt „Downsizing“ das Motto. Statt wie die Konkurrenz am Hubraum zu sparen um die Effizienz zu steigern, setzt Mazda weiter auf Motoren mit zwei Litern Hubraum.
