Mercedes GLA has franked all over the brouhaha with an image of a poster-boy for 2014. Here, in this comparison, Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Volvo V40 Cross Country are all pegged against it. The Benz’s offering is the only one to admire gasoline buyers that may remain its USP over a certain time.
Let’s find the ace of small luxury SUVs with its diesel mill…
Engine
On the count of engine and power, GLA has the biggest machine in its class that delivers the least output!
X1 and Audi Q3 fares outstandingly; whereas Volvo still needs to work over the numbers despite five-cylinders at its bay, unlike 4 cylinders of rivals.
Drivability
As the Quattro delved permanently for Q3, nothing comes close to it. The X1 still can mark some importance because of rear-wheel drive layout, but GLA and V40 Cross Country cannot even toddle because of their front-wheel structure.
Space
All BMWs have an elongated front-overhang, so the X1. It ruled out everyone else when compared the wheelbase and overall length, but only fallen short in width.
The Audi Q3 designed for more of a coupe structure, so space inside the cabin is comparatively cramped; a generous height overcomes them all.
Volvo and GLA fared reasonably on all the counts, which mean they are bound more of practicality like hatchbacks, and less of a uniquely designed SUVs!
Overview
The drive reports may appeal all the four SUVs penned down differently. But for purists, it would be Audi and BMW. Mercedes and Volvo are seemed catered to vanilla buyers only!!!
