As you are aware the Geneva Motor Show 2020 was sadly cancelled, however I was invited to an exclusive private preview to see the new Koenigsegg Gemera at the Palexpo Centre, Geneva. I was also able to view the new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut while I was there.
The new Koenigsegg Gemera 2020 is a true family car, it has four seats, luggage space, infotainment at front and rear as well as hot and cold cupholders! However with this family car, you get 1,700 bhp and 2,580lb ft of torque, it can go 0-62mph in 1.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250mph. As Koenigsegg say, it is a Mega-GT and their first 4-seater car. The name itself, "Gemera" comes from Swedish and translates into English as "Give More" and this car certainly does do that. Production is limited to just 300 cars.
This is a superb car, in my opinion in a category of its own, a mega GT with space for the family. I believe more luxury manufacturers will be following in the footsteps of Koenigsegg and launching similar products in this new niche segment in the future.
Massive thanks to @prestigemotorcarsnyon and Thilo Martin for the invitation to the preview.
