At this year's Festival of Speed, Porsche arranged the reunion of factory racing driver Marc Lieb and a very special Porsche 918 Spyder. It was a year ago in this exact car that Lieb set the production lap record for the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring: six minutes and 57 seconds.
Here, Marc Lieb talks about the challenge of attacking the narrow and bumpy Goodwood hill in the 887 horsepower 918 Spyder, and explains how its hybrid technology provides phenomenal performance yet reduces emissions. Like the 919 Hybrid that Lieb drove at Le Mans, the 918 Spyder marries good fuel economy with great performance on the racetrack.
