Pagani Cars - History - Part. 01- Pagani Automobili S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of sports cars and carbon fibre. The company is based in San Cesario sul Panaro, near Modena, Italy. Horacio Pagani who formerly managed Lamborghini's composites, founded Pagani Composite Research in 1988. In the late 1980s, Pagani began designing his own car, then referred to as the ""C8 Project"". Pagani planned to rename the C8 the ""Fangio F1"" to honour five-time Formula One champion Juan Manuel Fangio. The final car was named the Zonda C12; the Fangio F1 name was dropped out of respect for Fangio, who died in 1995. It was first presented at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. Pagani is an independent company but has been working closely with Daimler AG, especially, with Mercedes' AMG division. Nel tardo 1980, Pagani iniziò a progettare la propria auto, che iniziamente venne chiamata ""Progetto C8"". Pagani decise poi di rinominarla ""Fangio F1"" per onorare il cinque volte campione di Formula Uno Juan Manuel Fangio. La vettura finale venne chiamata Zonda C12, il nome Fangio F1 venne abbandonato in segno di rispetto per Fangio, morto nel 1995. L'auto venne inizialmente presentata al Motor Show di Ginevra del 1999. Pagani è una società indipendente, ma ha lavorato in stretta collaborazione con Daimler AG e soprattutto con la divisione AMG Mercedes. Pagani ha anche contribuito allo sviluppo della Chrysler ME 4-12.
