Today's teardown is a banger! What I mean is, when it blew up, banging was one of the noises one would use to describe the sounds.
This is the 3.3L Non-turbo V6 from a 2021 Explorer Police Interceptor with 75,000 Miles. This engine blew up as an officer was getting on the highway. Apparently, the car somehow went into "pursuit mode" which held the engine at high rpm and it blew up shortly thereafter and locked up. What is pursuit mode? No really, I'm unfamiliar with what pursuit mode is. Either way, I'm not terribly sure what the initial cause of the engines demise was, but it sure let go in glorious fashion.

Why am I doing this? My name is Eric and I own and run a full service auto recycling business. Part of our model includes dismantling blown and broken engines to salvage the good parts. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those who do.

I really hope you enjoyed this video. As always, I love all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism!
