Looking for a versatile textile riding jacket? Scorpion’s got something fresh with its Phalanx jacket.

Fabricated from 600 denier water-resistant polyester, the Phalanx is designed for spring, summer and early fall-time riding. Large zippered vents under the arms and at the back flow air when the mercury climbs, conversely, a thermal vest can be installed when it’s chilly.

The coat uses pliable CE-certified armor from SAS-TEC in the shoulder and elbow areas. There’s also a foam back protector, all of which are removable.

A pair of adjustment snaps on each arm and at the waist help tailor fit. The cuff also uses both a zippered and Velcro enclosures. Accordion stretch panels behind the arms and in the elbow area increase freedom of movement.

Outside there’s a zippered pocket on either side and a large internal one as well. The Phalanx can be zipped to Scorpion’s new riding pants or clipped to your favorite riding denim with a handy belt loop. Three other colors are available in addition to this Hi-Viz colorway with an MSRP just above $200.
