The CitiGo will sit underneath the Up! in terms of price positioning, keeping with the tradition of Skodas being positioned a notch below Volkswagens. The CitiGo's grille is a typical Skoda item, giving the car instant recognizability as a Skoda. Coming to the engine options, the CitiGo, like the Volkswagen Up! will be powered by a 1 liter, three cylinder petrol engine. This petrol engine will be available in two states of tune, 59 Bhp and 75 Bhp.The high fuel economy of nearly 25 Kmpl and low tail pipe emissions are hallmarks of this engine. The Skoda CitiGo, like the Volkswagen Up! is also expected to get an all-electric version. Expect the all electric version of the CitiGo to be unveiled in the coming weeks. The all electric variant of the CitiGo will feature 18 KwH lithium ion battery stacks powering a 80 Bhp electric motor, endowing the CitiGo with a range of 130 Kms along with a top speed of 130 Kph.Apart from stylistic changes to distinguish it from the Volkswagen Up! Hatchback, the CitiGo features the same 1 Liter, three cylinder petrol engine as the Volkswagen Up!, available in two different states of tune, 59 Bhp and 74 Bhp. With that, folks waiting anticipating a Skoda sub-Fabia small car in 2012, may go in for other cars in the segment like the Maruti A-Star or the Hyundai i10 rather than waiting for the Skoda CitiGo Hatchback which clearly more than a year away.
