Reportedly, the SsangYong Rexton today got a new variant in the line, named as RX6. It is slotted between the top end RX7 and base variant RX5. The combination of features from RX7 and drivetrain from RX5 made up this new variant to surface. Priced at Rs 19.96 lakh, this new trim of the high-end Korean SUV fills in the gap with premium leather upholstery, electrical sunroof, eight-way adjustable driver's seat, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, on demand all-wheel drive, an infotainment system with navigation, ABS and hill descent control, among others. On the flipside, the technical bay comes lugged with Mercedes-sourced, 162bhp 2.7-litre turbo diesel engine. The transmission goes manual instead of automatic.
Hope so this new avatar of Rexton may change the fortune of SsangYong, which it was thriving to have since the launch. Hopefully, the chauffeur driven audiences are at the immediate target of RX6.
