The 2016 Tesla Model X nominally competes with large luxury SUVs from not only Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, but also Range Rover, Porsche, and even Bentley. It doesn't have the off-road capability or cargo flexibility that some of them offer, but its mix of smoothness, performance, and energy efficiency is unparalleled. The Land Rover Range Rover can go places the Tesla can't, although even its new diesel option can't compete on efficiency.
