Retro is in. Fiat's cute revival of the classic Fiat 500 has been on the road for several years. Now the company's engineers have added a 2-cylinder gasoline engine to the list of available power plants. The original Fiat 500's unmistakable sound came from an air-cooled 2-cylinder stashed behind the rear axle. The 2-cylinder in the new 500 is water-cooled and in front, and produces a respectable 85 horsepower from its 900 cubic centimeters. Fiat calls it the cleanest gasoline engine in the world. Is that boast justified?
