The 1960 Porsche 356 Super was one of the cars that launched the Porsche legend. Helmut Pfeifhofer of Gmünd, Austria witnessed the very beginnings of the Porsche brand. At the close of World War II, Porsche's design department had moved into a little wooden workshop in Gmünd. Pfeifhofer bought his first Porsche in 1957 - a 356. Its 75-horsepower engine propelled it to 175 km/h, a sensational top speed at the time.
