Would you ever let your Ferrari go under the knife?

Meet the supercar surgeon Al-Zadeh, CEO of Newport Convertible Engineering.

After dropping out of medical school, Al Zadeh began modifying vehicles over 35 years ago says that he has worked on cars from A to Z, including Ferraris, Bentleys, Jaguars, and Rolls Royces for clients such as rappers, baseball players, and actors.

Why do people take the risk of allowing someone to cut into their supercar? Al-Zadeh has his own explanation

SOT Al Zadeh, CEO of Newport Convertible Engineering: "Kind of the same, you might say, concept of a person who wants to get plastic surgery. Some people, they're already beautiful but they want to be more beautiful - they want to stand out - they want to be more unique. The concept comes from this idea, but of course they're two different subjects."

His company specialises in taking cars which aren’t normally available as convertibles, including large vehicles such as SUVs, and installing a convertible system, but Al Zadeh can also convert four door vehicles into two doors.

SOT Al Zadeh, CEO of Newport Convertible Engineering Inc (in English): "We're not interested really interested at this time in a TV show because we're pretty busy with our expansion but that would be something we might consider in the future."

Prices begin at $86,000 to convert a Tesla, $174,000 to convert any four door vehicle into two doors, and a whopping $311,000 to modify a Ferrari 599 GTB.

An operation usually takes 6-8 weeks.

Although the price tag is so steep, for some, it is just what the doctor ordered.
