Pour sa première visite sur le Circuit Paul Ricard, le FIA WTCC a été marqué par un immense engouement populaire, largement suscité par la présence de Citroën Racing et de ses pilotes tricolores, Sébastien Loeb et Yvan Muller. En pole position de la première course, Yvan Muller était l’auteur d’un cavalier seul pour décrocher sa première victoire de la saison. Partis en fond de grille, Sébastien Loeb et José-María López terminaient deuxième et quatrième ! Lors de la seconde manche, José-María López réalisait un exploit en remontant de la dernière à la première position ! Citroën Racing s’offrait un nouveau doublé grâce à Yvan Muller, tandis que Sébastien Loeb se classait sixième.
