In the forests of northern Sweden we meet Roger Henriksson, a timber truck driver who participates in the Swedish research project One More Pile. The aim of the project is to change the Swedish load limit legislation to allow vehicle combinations of up to 90 tonnes and 30 metres in length instead of today’s 60 tonnes and 25 metres. Driving with a 50% larger load increases efficiency and cuts carbon emissions by 20% compared with a traditional timber vehicle combination.
