After a short struggle with timing, the Buick popped to life in the Spec Small-Block class and made 484 lb-ft at 5,300 rpm and 542 hp at 6,400 rpm. The Spec Small-Block class requires the builder to use Edelbrock heads and intake, an MSD distributor, a single 4150-style carburetor, and Comp Cams cam and lifters.
