Car restoration has always been my passion and in this video i show you the process of buying a used car which the owner thought had a bad head gasket. In this case, the car is an abandoned BMW e39 5 series. I then show you how to test a car for a bad head gasket including how to do a combustion gas leak test, how to do a compression test and how to do a cylinder leak down test only to find that the car doesnt have a bad head gasket. However the car does have a misfire so i then show you how to diagnose a car misfire step by step including testing the short term fuel trims and how to use smoke to find a hidden vacuum leak in car, which is the cause of the misfire.
