XPENG G6 Crash Safety Test 2024

Chinese automaker Xpeng has recently expanded into Malaysia, introducing the G6 as its first electric vehicle in the region. This model is now gaining attention for its outstanding safety performance. The Xpeng G6 earned a top-tier five-star safety rating from the 2024 Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP), the leading safety benchmark for vehicles in Europe.

Euro New Car Assessment Programme evaluates cars based on crash tests, focusing on occupant protection, road user safety, and advanced driver assistance systems. The high rating reflects Xpeng's commitment to creating safer vehicles, helping consumers make well-informed decisions.

The Xpeng G6’s impressive safety score can be attributed to its cutting-edge engineering. The vehicle features China's first front and rear die-casting technology, significantly enhancing structural rigidity with a torsional stiffness of 41,600 Newton-meters per degree. This design integrates over 300 components into just two main structures, boosting impact resistance and improving weight distribution.

For added protection, the G6 includes a robust three-layer anti-collision structure around the battery, along with seven airbags. It also boasts the XPILOT safety system, which uses an Nvidia Orin-X processor, five radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors for enhanced collision avoidance.

Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of Xpeng, emphasized the company’s dedication to passenger safety through continuous technological innovation.
