2020 Ford Puma Titanium X Debuts In Europe With Lots Of Kit

The Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo won’t be the only small crossover in Frankfurt next week to show off its range-topping trim as Ford will also be there with the new Puma in the high-spec Titanium X variant. Complementing the sporty ST-Line X introduced earlier this year, the new posh trim level comes with all the goodies right from the start, including some exclusive features like those stylish 18-inch wheels with a ten-spoke design and a Pearl Grey finish.

It’s billed as being the very first Ford to boast removable and washable seat covers, and also the first model in its segment to come with lumbar massage seats. To sweeten the deal, the Blue Oval throws in wireless charging and a hands-free electric tailgate, while the 10-speaker 575-watts B&O sound system is part of the deal as well.

To set it apart from the other Puma versions, Ford has slapped on several glossy black exterior accents and chrome highlights noticeable on the honeycomb front grille and the fog lamp bezels. A similar theme has been applied on the side skirts to provide the crossover with a more upscale look. At the back, the diffuser and skid plate have received metallic gray highlights. Rounding off the changes are the body-colored side mirrors incorporating puddle lights that light up the ground once you open the door.
Stepping inside the cabin, the Puma Titanium X can be visually distinguished thanks to its leather-like steering wheel and faux wood surrounding the instrument cluster and also on top of the center console. One other change is noticeable at the door cards where Ford has applied fabric inserts to spruce things up a bit.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.0-liter engine in either 123 hp or 153 hp flavors and equipped with a mild-hybrid system to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The three-cylinder EcoBoost unit works together with a belt-driven 11.5 kW integrated starter/generator (BISG) that captures the energy that would otherwise be wasted during coasting or braking and uses it to charge the lithium-ion battery pack. In addition, the BISG also doubles as a motor by providing torque assistance whenever necessary and it can also power the vehicle's electrical ancillaries.

The Romanian-built Ford Puma in the Titanium X flavor will be exhibited beginning with next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
